Scuba Diving

Anemone Fish Our oceans are full of fascinating creatures, curious seascapes and exhilarating experiences. It is no wonder that diving is one of the fastest growing outdoor sports – it's fun, exciting and gets you to travel the world. Diving is also incredibly varied from Antarctic icebergs with penguins to plethora of colorful tropical fish in the South Pacific, and everything in between. No two dives are alike, not even in the same location! When choosing a destination you should consider what type of diving you enjoy, your level of expertise, preferred travel time, and whether you want to add any other activities to your trip.

Liveaboard or Dive Resort?

DiversMany dedicated divers choose a liveaboard because of the number of dives the boats offer, generally up to five or even six per day. Some destinations are best explored on a liveaboard as the dive sites are far from the shore or scattered around with some distance between them. And some destinations only have liveaboard options as there are no resorts in the area that offer a decent dive operation. These are all good reasons to choose a liveaboard. Liveaboard trips are intimate; you will get to know your fellow divers quickly and hopefully make long-lasting friendships.

CoralDivers who prefer a dive resort often like to combine local culture and other land-based activities with their dive itinerary. They are also content with fewer dives per day. Some divers travel with a non-diving spouse or children – if you are not a diver, we don’t usually recommend that you go on a liveaboard trip. Also, some great dive destinations do not have a liveaboard option. Dive resorts range from rustic to opulent so there is a normally a good selection to match your wishes and expectations.
