Uganda GorillaBwindi National Park’s gorillas – half the remaining in the world, about 340 in total – are a hike away and you must secure one of the limited numbers of the gorilla permits to begin your journey. It is not an easy trip but if you make it, you will never forget it. Kibale Forest National Park is home to great number of chimpanzees and monkeys, a lively experience. Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its hippos and great birding opportunities. Lake Mburo National Park savanna hosts zebras, impalas, elands and many other species.
