Galapagos Dive Liveaboards
Deep Blue
Deep Blue is one of the newest yachts in Galapagos. The roomy and comfortable vessel has nine double cabins with ensuite bathrooms and air-conditioning. The beautifully furnished cabins are spacious and have plenty of storage space. Common areas include a salon with panoramic views over the sea, a dining area and a sundeck. Meals onboard are furnished by Deep Blue's own organic farm which grows fruits, vegetables and livestock. Fresh fish and seafood is sustainable and purchased locally.
The dive deck is large and well-functioning and there are two zodiacs onboard. For underwater photographers there are two camera tables, a large rinse tank and two showers with hot water. You are treated to hot drinks, warm towels and snacks after each dive. Deep Blue offers Nitrox.
Galapagos Aggressor I & II
Both Galapagos Aggressors are 100 feet in length and feature three master suite cabins with two single berths or (by request) one queen bed and four deluxe cabins with two single berths. All cabins have private bathrooms, hair dryers and televisions with DVD and MP3 players.
Dive deck has personal gear lockers, rinse tanks, freshwater showers and a camera table. For relaxing between dives, the partially covered sundeck features a wet bar, a hot tub and two hammocks. Inside, the elegant dining and lounge area has plenty of room to relax. Also onboard is a computer station with email access and two inflatable skiffs for shore excursions and diving. Aggressor offers Nitrox.
Every Galapagos Aggressor I & II charter includes thrilling shark dives at remote Wolf and Darwin Islands. Diving begins Friday and ends Wednesday morning. Three islands will be explored through land tours during the week. Due to the strong currents, beginner divers may find Galapagos diving challenging. The Galapagos Aggressors operate out of San Cristobal year round. The port of departure is determined by the Galapagos National Park and doesn’t affect the diving or land tour itinerary.
Galapagos Sky
The 100-foot Galapagos Sky features four master cabins with a queen bed or, by request, two twin beds. The four deluxe cabins have two twin beds. All cabins have private bathrooms, wardrobes, hair dryers and bathrobes. The master cabins are also equipped with televisions with DVD players. The yacht offers Nitrox and has two dive tenders.
The Galapagos Islands are the crossroad for the Equatorial Counter Current and colder Humboldt Current of South America, thus providing an area rich with nutrients and food for the numerous marine creatures. Whales, whale sharks, dolphins, sea lions, sharks – especially hammerheads – turtles and jacks join the many other species crossing your path as you cruise through these prolific waters.
Alta is a beautiful 140-foot sailing vessel with gorgeous detailing and furnishings. The luxurious and spacious ship offers eight cabins for a maximum of 16 guests. All cabins have private bathrooms, hairdryers, individual climate control and plenty of storage space. Common areas onboard the Alta include large outdoor areas, inside and al fresco dining areas, and a stylish and comfortable salon for lectures and presentations. With hoisted sails – likely to happen more often between June and September when the winds are the most favorable – Alta is truly a magnificent sight. Gliding through the waves with no engine noise is a treat harking back to the romance of long ocean voyages.
Alta’s 7-night itineraries depart from San Cristobal on Saturdays. Naturalist cruises offer daily walks and hikes on the islands with certified naturalist guides, kayaking, snorkeling, dinghy rides to visit mangroves and estuaries, and occasional diving. Special diving itineraries take you all the way to Wolfe and Darwin for Galapagos’ best diving. Large schools of hammerheads, whale sharks (June to November), reef sharks, manta rays, orcas, dolphins and many other large pelagics await you here.
In the end of May 2010, the brand-new 106-foot Humboldt Explorer will begin its regular 7-night dive cruises in the Galapagos Islands. The luxurious vessel will provide its guests exceptional amenities, plenty of space and ease of diving. There are eight cabins onboard for a maximum of sixteen divers. All cabins are air-conditioned and have two twin beds that can be converted to one queen-size bed, private bathrooms, windows with ocean views and flat-screen televisions. Six of the cabins are on the lower deck, the remaining two on the main deck.
The partially covered sundeck has a jacuzzi and ample seating areas, the main deck features a dining area and a lounge with a bar. The large dive deck features a camera table with a charging station, individual storage and rinse bins. Diving is conducted from two large inflatable rigid hull pangas which are easily boarded from the dive deck. Dive itineraries include the Wolf and Darwin Islands. The Humboldt Explorer offers Nitrox.
Lammer Law is a 93-foot luxury trimaran with lots of space and comfort. It is beautiful and fast with an excellent stability. It was expertly designed to serve is a diving liveaboard in the Galapagos. There are eight cabins onboard for a maximum of sixteen guests. Four cabins have two twin beds, four a queen-size bed. All cabins are equipped with a private bathroom, air-conditioning, plenty of storage and a porthole.
Lammer Law’s great common areas are furnished in comfortable contemporary style. Large sofas and a full entertainment system will draw you to socialize in the evenings. A separate dining room serves delectable meals. The huge sun deck stretches almost the whole length of the vessel and gives you a lot of space to spread out and take in the views.
