Walindi Plantation Resort
For many years, Walindi Plantation Resort has been one of our favorite places. Located on the shores of Kimbe Bay, right by some of the richest and healthiest marine life on the planet, it's a dream destination for divers and snorkelers alike. There are only twelve self-contained bungalows spread along the beachfront and the rainforest gardens. All bungalows have bathrooms, ceiling fans, large windows for tropical breezes, tea and coffee making facilities and private verandas. The center of the resort is the beautiful dining and bar area, complete with a pool, a boutique and an extensive air-conditioned reference library with computer access. There is also wireless internet if you prefer to bring your own laptop. Catering to a small number of guests at a time means you receive undivided attention. Good company, great food, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere provide the perfect backdrop while you enjoy Kimbe Bay diving and snorkeling.
The coral reefs around Walindi are extraordinarily rich. A recent coral count of Kimbe Bay revealed an incredible 413 species of hard coral which is more than half of the world’s total – in one bay! Over 900 species of fish have been recorded so far, the number keeps growing each year. Walindi is equally fantastic location for snorkelers with plenty of shallow reef tops. The dive shop will keep your gear cleaned and organized, and there are three dive boats to whisk you to the dive spots. The resort offers Nitrox, rental equipment and a full range of dive courses. Other activities here include world-class guided bird watching with a chance to see a host of exotic endemics, and rainforest hiking, village visits, a Kimbe town tour and thermal spring visits.

Tufi’s activities include excellent scuba diving, bush and nature walks, snorkeling, kayaking, outrigger safaris, bird watching and village visits. The variety of diving ranges from macro diving in the fjords to reef and wreck diving at the outer reefs. In the fjords, the marine life includes a variety of gobies, nudibranchs, mandarin fish, pygmy seahorse and plethora of other fascinating creatures. The outer reefs bring a Dutch cargo wreck “S Jacob” and intact B17 bomber. Marine life abounds: hammerheads, reef sharks, rays, schools of pelagics. For the snorkeler, Tufi offers excellent macro experience right from the jetty. Protected within the fjords, many sponges and coral species grow enormous. For the more adventurous snorkeler, a trip to Cyclone Reef is an ideal way to spend the day in crystal clear waters.
