Mahé Seychelles Resorts
Mahé, measuring 28 kilometers long by eight kilometers wide, is the largest island and the cultural, administrative and economic hub of the Seychelles. Here you will find the international airport and the nation's capital, Victoria. The island is home to almost 90% of the total population or about 73,000 people reflecting Seychelles' diverse ethnicity and descent from African, Indian, Chinese and European populations.
With a backdrop of towering 1,000 meter granite peaks, Mahé is an extraordinary treasure trove of flora that has evolved over centuries in splendid isolation. Rare endemic plants found nowhere else in the world adorn mountain strongholds in Mahé's mist forests, such as the jellyfish tree, the carnivorous Seychelles pitcher plant and the Seychelles vanilla orchid. Beaches abound, with around seventy in all – choose from small or large, deserted or crowded, highly visible or hidden away in some remote part of the island. Beau Vallon, the main tourist beach on the northwest, is a 3 ½ kilometer long arc of white sand with clear waters and a wide range of water sports on offer. This is also the calmest of the beaches and good for families with young children.
